Guy’s Cancer Academy scoops two major awards

It was a night to remember in London, as our team were double winners at the prestigious Learning Technologies Awards 2024.

Our ‘Management of neck and shoulder dysfunction’ was Bronze Winner in Best learning technologies project - public & non-profit sector.

Judges described it as, ‘A strong submission clearly setting out the need and strategy employed to provide the best possible outcome, with examples of where recognised learning theory was used. Great use of different media and useful feedback.’

And our Systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) course was also a Bronze Winner, in Best use of blended learning - public & non-profit sector.

The judges said, ‘Addressing the shortage of cancer therapy nurses and the challenges of a time-constrained audience, this course uses a mix of asynchronous and virtual learning, supported by a competency passport for skill validation.

‘Expert contributors and patient involvement enhance its design, while integrating technical and interpersonal skills essential for clinicians. This scalable programme effectively blends learning methods to meet a critical skills gap.’

We’re delighted to have been so successful in the face of some seriously tough competition across all industries and sectors.

A massive thank you to all colleagues, collaborators, partners and funders who have supported us with these projects.

Thank you also to the awards organisers, and big congratulations to all the other winners!
